Exclusive Interview: FADPOV Talks With Ryan Robbins (Part 2)

FADPOV: What’s the craziest costume you’ve ever had to wear on the set?

Ryan: Wow. Probably not the craziest but the most intense and least comfortable costume was when we shot the first episode of the mini series for Battlestar Galactica. I played the old man and it took six hours in prosthetics to age me. To have the walk and the suit… those suits are really tight!

Ladon’s costume in Atlantis. I mean, god bless the costume department, but it’s one of the most uncomfortable costumes ever....

Bones 3.12: The Wannabe In The Weeds

My, how the mighty have fallen. Was it really just last week I was gushing about "The Verdict in the Story" as if it were the highlight of my television week? Bones had come so far from the days when it didn't hold my interest, and I felt sure that the only reason for the travesty that was "The Player Under Pressure" was that it was borrowed from season two. I could not have been more wrong.

But then, on the other hand, I'm not even sure I was really watching Bones this week. It felt like an hour-long commercial for American Idol. Apparently even one of the guest stars was a former contestant, although never having watched the show, I'm not sure which one (I think the promos made it out to be the dead guy, Tommy Sauer)....

Supernatural 3.15: Time Is On My Side

Billy Drago guest-stars on this episode as Doc Benton, an organ-thieving doctor who has discovered the secret to eternal life. Obviously this is of interest to Sam and Dean both, given that Dean is coming up on the last leg of his year before his deal with the Crossroads Demon is up and he goes to hell.

The first words out of my mouth when I was watching this episode with a friend was "LORNE LORNE LORNE OH MY GOD THAT'S LORNE!" For those of you not coherent in babble, that would be, "My goodness, that is the same actor who plays Maj. Lorne on Stargate: Atlantis!"...

Supernatural 3.14: Long Distance Call

Unlike “Ghostfacers”, which went straight for your funnybone and yanked your heartstrings along the way, “Long Distance Call” went straight for the heart. And missed.

It is painfully obvious that this is a post-strike "wrap-up" episode, because they have a slightly cobbled-together feel, as if this and that bit were taken from other episodes and put here because they needed information relayed by this point in the non-interrupted season, but didn't get the chance due to the strike....

Battlestar Galactica 4.06: Faith

Wow. I'm not really sure what to say about this episode besides that it was fantastic and I loved basically every minute of it. Seriously – I remember, more than once, sitting there watching and thinking "Damn, this is really, really good."

The title of this episode is "Faith". And faith certainly is a recurring theme throughout.

Faith is tested: Helo's, as he waits for his wife and his captain to return from the crippled Basestar; Roslin's, as she questions whether Baltar's "one true God" theory has any merit (oh, and how heartbreakingly lovely was it when she was on that ferry, on the river, and she saw her mother and realized she was okay, and her face lit up with relief and joy and love?)....

Doctor Who 4.03: Planet Of The Ood

Really scary: Posessed-by-the-Devil Ood.

Not quite as scary, but I still wouldn't want to be faced with one, for obvious reasons: Rabid Ood.

Completely gut-wrenchingly terrifying: Ood saying the Doctor's song is going to end soon. WHAT. I know, I know - the Doctor must (spoiler alert!) regenerate eventually.  David Tennant will someday move on to Other Things, and he will be Awesome, and the show will go on, with a different Doctor, as it has for the past 40-odd years....

Caprica Nabs New Crew

The Battlestar: Galatica prequel, Caprica, has been picking up cast members right and left.

Moonlight 1.15: What's Left Behind

They say that as one gets older, one loses interest in partying and starts to settle down. Case in point: by the time you’re 400 years old, the most excitement you can handle during a night on the town is, apparently, couch-shopping.

Hey, some of those things have cushion fabric in patterns that are completely visually exhausting!

It’s come to a point where I can’t imagine Mick without Josef at his side. In a way, they don’t really seem that compatible – Mick’s erroneous assumption about what a night out would involve is yet another example of how they seem to be on completely different wavelengths. But there’s a genuine affection there that points to a real rapport....

Gore Verbinski Bringing Bioshock To Big Screen

Popular video game Bioshock is getting new life as a video game.

Pirates of the Caribbean helmer Gore Verbinski will be helming the movie.  No release date has been targeted yet, although Verbinski--who will be doing double duty as both producer and director--hopes to get preproduction started as soon as possible.

John Logan, who penned The Aviator, is the top candidate to pen the script based on the video game.  ...
