Exclusive Interview: FADPOV Talks With Ryan Robbins (Part 2)

FADPOV: What’s the craziest costume you’ve ever had to wear on the set?

Ryan: Wow. Probably not the craziest but the most intense and least comfortable costume was when we shot the first episode of the mini series for Battlestar Galactica. I played the old man and it took six hours in prosthetics to age me. To have the walk and the suit… those suits are really tight!

Ladon’s costume in Atlantis. I mean, god bless the costume department, but it’s one of the most uncomfortable costumes ever....

Exclusive Interview: FADPOV Talks With Ryan Robbins (Part 1)

When FADPOV had the chance to chat with actor Ryan Robbins a little while ago, we were more than thrilled to spend a slightly overcast afternoon in North Vancouver with this iconic star. Two hours later and Ryan's charm and wit has completely won us over as he regales us with fun stories from various sets, and what it’s been like to bring characters to life in favourite shows like Battlestar Galactica, Stargate: Atlantis, The Guard, Sanctuary, and so many others.

It certainly also doesn’t hurt that Ryan’s animated tales are shared over luscious organic coffee as we get sneaky peeks at the tattoo of his daughter’s name over his shoulders, all the while wondering how we should raise the fact that we think he looks the spitting image of an adorable Viggo Mortensen…

As we got to spend so much time with Ryan, we’ve decided to break this interview into two parts so you don’t miss out on anything. We certainly hope you enjoy this little insight into Ryan’s life as much as we enjoyed talking with him!!...

Large Mean Dude in Residence: An Interview with Dan Payne

If you’ve ever watched an episode of Stargate: SG-1 or Stargate: Atlantis, chances are you’ve seen Dan Payne in action, ripping it up as Large Mean Dude in Residence (cue Kull Warrior, Jaffa, or Bad Ass Wraith here), although it’s possible you might not recognize him without layers of prosthetics and some incredibly well filled-out alien costumes.

He’s also appeared in Sanctuary (which has just been picked up by the Sci Fi channel) and has starring roles in upcoming films Mulligans and Smile of April (also featuring Torri Higginson), among a host of other credits.

Did we mention Dan is incredibly funny? And wickedly good looking?...

Interview with Moonlight's Sophia Myles

FADPOV was one of a few lucky websites given the chance to speak with the adorable Sophia Myles, star of CBS’s vampire drama Moonlight. It’s no wonder her character, online reporter Beth Turner, is so fun to watch – Sophia makes you wish you could sit down and discuss the world over a cup of coffee with her. Here’s what she had to say on the show, the season finale, her co-stars, working in Hollywood, preparing for a new role, and more!

Q: We’ve heard there is a possibility of a season two for Moonlight, and obviously with the writer’s strike you may not have much information, but what can we expect to see from Beth?...

Interview with CSI's A.J. Buckley, Part Two

Read on for Part Two of FADPOV's Justine Bond's fabulous interview with CSI: NY's A.J. Buckley as he mentions Jensen and Jared, Milo, David B. and many more names that make fangirls squee!

Oh, it was so funny! The little references to having the munchies… brilliant!

You know, that was an ad lib too! The editor told us that he put that in the cut as a joke and at the producer’s screening they loved it and kept it.

What’s really nice about Supernatural is the really easy, everyday language in it... it doesn’t feel scripted to death…

Oh for sure. And Jensen and Jared are such great guys too, they make it seem easy. I always get excited when I get to come home to Vancouver and hang out with them. I’ve known Jensen for years… ...

Interview with CSI's A.J. Buckley, Part One

Well we must say, catching up with one of CSI:NY’s rising stars, AJ Buckley, while he was in Vancouver recently was hardly a chore. Wonderfully unassuming, friendly and incredibly sweet (did I mention completely fanciable?), AJ rocked up to our interview looking as funky and casually chic as his character on CSI:NY – in fact, we meant to ask him if he gets to wear his own clothes on the show, but the hour flashed by so fast we didn’t get around to it. Instead we got a great insight into the life of this down-to-earth Irish/Canadian and how his career has been moving from strength to strength. Having guest starred on a bunch of the shows we feature on FADPOV, he was also able to confirm what we guessed about some of our favorite leading men… plus, he’s even dating a hot Australian actress, so we’re not sure the guy could be any cooler if he tried! Read on for a glimpse into AJ’s pretty incredible world…...

“Maybe Josef used to be a good guy once”: Talking with "Moonlight"’s Jason Dohring

Episode 12, which finished filming a few days ago, gives a glimpse into Josef’s past after a new vamp shows up who “makes him look like a pauper”. Jason has promised amazing costumes and gorgeous Old World sets.

Unfortunately, episode 12 (currently slated to air on January 11th) is also the last of the scripted episodes, so Jason couldn’t give any real hints about Josef’s direction after that. However, as he noted, CBS Corp. CEO Les Moonves made positive comments about the show last week and the ratings have been trending upwards, which are positive signs that it will indeed return after the resolution of the writers’ strike!

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Andee Frizzell

You might not recognize Andee Frizzell when you pass her on the street, but pretty much anyone with a television will know the bad ass Wraith Queen characters she plays on Stargate: Atlantis. FADPOV had the chance to catch up with the hilarious (and stunning) Andee recently to discuss being the woman behind the mask and we certainly weren’t disappointed. Not only is she naturally fun, warm and friendly, Andee is also refreshingly full of energy and enthusiasm for the opportunities science fiction has offered up to her as an actor, something we fangirls can definitely appreciate. Read on for a look into Andee’s world and how she manages to bring some our favourite baddies to life on screen…...

EXCLUSIVE: Meet the Newest Hero, Dana Davis!

Heroes fans really are the luckiest fans in all the world. Not only do we have this kick-ass show but there's the cast – a group of amazing, down-to-earth, extremely talented, nice people who do things like heading off on world tours and personally responding to fan mail. And with its combination of high drama, unfolding mysteries and sci-fi super powers, no wonder we can’t get enough of this show. Lucky for us, then, that things are about to get even more exciting as we’re treated to a new hero in next Monday's fourth episode of the season, “The Kindness of Strangers”. And wouldn't you know it? Dana Davis, who portrays Monica Dawson, is just as amazing as her cast mates. She loves her show, she loves her character, and her enthusiasm is so incredibly infectious that I’m not sure how we’re going to be able to hold off until next week to see her on screen. Read on for this exclusive peek into adorable Dana’s new life as a bona fide Hero… ...

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Stargate's David Nykl

Tonight, Stargate: Atlantis returns to Sci-Fi with its fourth season. A lot of changes are forthcoming, and while the jury is still out as to whether or not these will be good or bad for the show’s continued success, one tried and true member of the Atlantis team is back for sure (thank goodness!): Radek Zelenka. Best loved for not taking the continued crap that McKay likes to throw at him, Zelenka has become an integral part of Stargate: Atlantis, a character loved by fans for both his geekitude and his, mostly, McKay-related rants in Czechoslovakian.

FADPOV had the chance to chat with Zelenka’s creator, David Nykl, who, it turns out, is just as delightful, geeky and fun as the character he portrays....
